spring cleaning.

I'm currently giving my blog a little makeover -so please excuse if anything still looks a bit confused! After receiving a few mails telling me to make a FAQ Page, I thought why not spring-clean my whole Internet home a bit...Please look around and tell me how you like it and if something is still missing!!

So I know I'm teeny tiny in these pics, but I still feel like I have to apologies for the glowing orange that shines from my head. After colouring and bleaching my hair for ten years now…yeah, ten years (that either means I started too young or I'm already very old -I leave that up to you! ) I decided to go back to my natural roots, not because I think orange is a lovely colour (I never really liked my natural carrots hair) but because I'm slowly trying to cut down on chemical products in my life. For a long while the films in my camera were very friendly to my outgrowing roots and always showed my hair much more presentable as it was, but now BANG I'm a Kobold. Well, I guess I have to embrace the orange now...or get photoshop for colour correcting!

By the way, I have a little question to the Ladies reading my blog -did any of you made the same discovery, that as your natural hair is growing out, it changes into a more intensive colour over time?? I think it's weird that without me doing anything, my colour still seems to evolve…maybe because of the long bleaching or because I still used blue shampoo for a long while because I had tons left of it?? -I don't know, thought maybe a few of you lovely girls could tell me when that effect will stop.

And for the men that are now bored we can discuss if it is called soccer or football...just to stick to the cliche.

first signs of a new season.

light and shadow
...the first warm rays of sunshine inspired me to experiment a bit with light and shadow.

And perfectly fitting to that early spring sunshine, the lovely Polly from Passer Domesticus (an adorable blog, by the way) gave me the sunshine award -thank you, dear Polly! I'm getting a lot of internet love at the moment, and I'm very thankful for that.

I know that these awards always have strict rules, questions to answer and so on, but I'm not a "tag" person, and I certainly don't like to follow rules (Oh, I'm such a rebel!!!), but I do like that they always request to mention some other lovely poeple in the blog world. So I'll only take that one part of the game and name 5 wonderful blogs off my personal reading list...just like that, without any awards or rules, if you pardon me.

Here we go:
u mnie (which is a tumblr not a blogspot, but hey, no rules, right?), unexpected behaviour of light, Alexandria Daniels, Cinnamon Girl (yummy!!..I adore good baking blogs, let me know if you have any recommendations!), and last but not least James H Duncan , who is not a photographer, but a wonderful Writer and Poet.

Never would I have ever thought that moving to a new city could unsettle me and my good friend Asim so much. I can't stop feeling like a visitor -don't get me wrong, it's beautiful here, I keep finding new lovely places and meeting new friendly people, but at the end of the day I still feel the need to return home again. I'm surprised how much I miss the place we left behind, and how much I was attached to the old apartment...and to the space it offered us, you don't realize what a luxury space can be till you loose it. But more so i am surprised how moody this whole situation made me act over the last weeks, I am really not proud of the amount of self-pity that I have let take over me. Asim is pretty confused as well right now, he became scared of the dark, something he never used to have a problem with before. And he developed the bad habit to bark at strangers, which got me in a lot of stupid arguments about not having him on a leash...oh, I hate to put Asim on a leash for too long, he needs to run and play. But still, very slowly, with every walk we take that will get better, and with every morning we wake up in our new apartment, it will start to feel more like something we can call home...oh, by the way I'll show you this new apartment very soon!

getting settled.

SCAN0023
No pictures up on the walls yet, still a few boxes left to unpack, the door key doesn't fit right, I got locked out two times of our new home...and got lost two times in the same park! So we're not really settled yet.

But nonetheless, 2012 started surprisingly positive for me and I feel this could finally be a good year. Let's hope
this will be a fresh start for all of us. And I'll try to blog more frequently.

we packed up home and left.

packing

Sorry that it took me so long to come back to my beloved blogworld, but the move was more straining than I thought it would be. My poor Asim got really scared when eight big men came and started packing up our home in a huge van. And I guess he knew that we wouldn't come back when we left the empty apartment, because he didn't wanted to move away from the front door, he laid on the ground and it took some hard work to convince him to come with me. The whole 4 hour drive to our new apartment he was shaking all over his body -it broke my (already homesick) heart! But don't worry, he is settling in quite well by now...we both are! We have a wonderful big park right next to our new home, and more green spots around than we could ever dream off. I hope to soon show you some pictures from our new place and environment.

Oh, before I forget, do you have any good tips for recovering from a bad allergy attack? I'm trying shake off the dust allergy that is torturing my lungs since packing tons of books in and out of 50 moving boxes -most important New Year's resolution: dusting up all the books every week!!!!

so nice to have you with us.

I recently noticed a three-digit number over a very special section of my blog. It's a lovely surprise to me that you
decided to "follow" me (and Asim) down this blog-road. Somehow you're always with us on the way, a few steps
behind till pictures have been developed or videos edited. You have become a wonderful companion with the kind
words you leave in the comments and I hope you will continue to enjoy our trip together.

Asim

We celebrated Asim's 1st birthday this week! The beginning picture of this post was taken on our first day together,
I can't believe what a huge and massive monster he became...but he still has the soul and movements of a puppy!

everything changes and stays the same.

So one year is ending and a new one begins, I have to say that I was never very sentimental about New Year's Eve
and I'm not really a fan of all this sudden reminiscing, but still, Happy New Year Everybody, I hope 2011 starts
well for you! Any fancy party plans yet? I don't, I'll probably stay home and hope that Asim gets through the night
without being terrified of the fireworks, he hates loud noises!!
