with my mothers 1st camera.

The sweet comments you left on my last post really lifted up my mood (thank you for that!) And even though I'm still not very excited with my photography at the moment, I thought I share some Holiday pictures from a trip Asim and I made last week. Holiday pics are always fun, right?...or was it boring and dull?...can't remeber...Anyway! I took these snapshots with a camera that knows me since I was a baby, it's a Canon t50 that my mother bought in New York many, many years ago on 42nd street. It was her first "real" camera, back then she didn't even know that cameras could be bought separated from lenses (that's the story she always tells me when she sees this camera ALWAYS). Most of my childhood pictures where taken with this thing, so it was a lot of fun to use it myself for the first time...even though I will never really get used to the fact that I can't direct the shutter speed.

Wanna see a picture that this camera took in the good old childhood days? Here you go:

this pic was taken by (who else but) my maman. That's me in the right corner, trying to walk like a ballerina...or a model?? I can only guess...but seeing how I walk today, I think I have lost my grace!

pardon me.

Somehow I feel like I owe you an apology...see my guilty look up there⇧ I received some very lovely comments recently, but bad allergy and migraine attacks, several dog ticks, and a very wacky Internet connection kept me from answering them. If you left me a question in the comments or wrote me a mail, I'll answer them now, just in case you're still interested! Thank you again for all your kind words, I cherish them very much!!

disposable.

Some people are living a glamorous life...not me of course, but at least people near and dear to me. Those dear people spend a night in a fancy hotel suite, and even thought of me while they were drowning in luxury! I got gifted (or should I say stolen) a Ritz Carlton disposable camera (sadly they kept the fluffy bathrobes for themselves). Somehow I can never wait to use new things, so I shot the whole film right away in one day. Maybe you remember me holding the little creme colored beauty in my hands in this post, and now you can see the results -if you wanna see the whole film I shot just check my flickr set here.

Note: picture #2 and #7 were not taken by me! #2 taken by my Mother #7 taken by an old man I met that day

sitting on dogs in the sunshine.

I hope you are enjoying the spring weather as much as Asim and I do...if not, try walking barefoot over a blooming meadow, you will start smiling instantly, I swear! These pics were not taken by me, they were shot by my sweet Mother (HI MAMA) today, and they show perfectly that as soon a girl goes for a walk with her mother she acts like a little kid again!! And before some of you ask, I'M NOT PREGNANT, that's just the wind creating a baby belly under my dress! The little creme coloured camera I am holding in my hands on these photos is a disposable model I got as a present this morning -I tell you the story about that little thing when the pictures are developed...let's hope they turn out ok!

PS Oh, and please tell my mother she's a great photographer as I know she's reading this :-)

PPS Have you seen that the beautiful Aline Aimée form Little Doll House dedicated a post to my blog? Thank you Aline!

Never would I have ever thought that moving to a new city could unsettle me and my good friend Asim so much. I can't stop feeling like a visitor -don't get me wrong, it's beautiful here, I keep finding new lovely places and meeting new friendly people, but at the end of the day I still feel the need to return home again. I'm surprised how much I miss the place we left behind, and how much I was attached to the old apartment...and to the space it offered us, you don't realize what a luxury space can be till you loose it. But more so i am surprised how moody this whole situation made me act over the last weeks, I am really not proud of the amount of self-pity that I have let take over me. Asim is pretty confused as well right now, he became scared of the dark, something he never used to have a problem with before. And he developed the bad habit to bark at strangers, which got me in a lot of stupid arguments about not having him on a leash...oh, I hate to put Asim on a leash for too long, he needs to run and play. But still, very slowly, with every walk we take that will get better, and with every morning we wake up in our new apartment, it will start to feel more like something we can call home...oh, by the way I'll show you this new apartment very soon!

and yet another post-christmas post.

I know we all have been bombarded with christmas stories over the last days, and probably all of you are already
fed up with pictures of shimmering trees and cute presents. However, I personally am very happy about every single
bit I can get of this post-christmas hype! After the long search for a new home and the stressful move, Christmas
came so fast this year that I hold on to any little thing that keeps this kitschy, glittery feeling of the holidays alive!
Oh, and Asim felt very festive too this time when he received his first wrapped present...
Asims first Christmas present!
Bone
...Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
